Was looking for pickled okra recipes & ran on your blog.We grow our own fruit, veggies & herbs here in So.Central IN & I putup 5-600+ jars every summer. Starting in May w/strawberries,then sourcherries, black raspberries, then reds, next blueberries, blackberries(70+gls).While puttin up BB's,our peaches R ripening as well as our tomatoes, squash, beans, potatoes,&various herbs R being dried.I'm canning blackberry pie filling today&when done I'll start batch of country style apple butter, then okra. Have several recipes but always like to find new TNT recipes every year.By time I'm done with these items pears will start ripening & I'll process our Concord Grapes, make basil pesto, finish drying herbs & pot some of each to bring in for kitchen use this winter. What did I leave out? LOL.Oh yes, almost forgot-elderberries-have a kick butt recipe for elderberry wine that's delish but haven't seen many this year so we've decided to buy half dozen plants&grow some of our own for hot summers such as this one. It's wonderful to open jars of your own food isn't it?? We love it! Makes winter much more interesting too. Have my great-great uncle's recipe for Sparkling Burgundy-need to start a batch of that soon as well as a batch of his Carrot Whiskey-) Never know when you might have a cold to nip in the bud.If you'd like to share your pickled okra recipe I'll swap any recipe in my box for one of yours.Tx. Happy canning-)
